ABM 2012 and ABM 2013

ABM 2012 took place in Prince George from February 13 to 16.

The event was a great success and attended by 110 First Nations and 100 corporations, government agencies and non-profit organizations all focused on developing opportunities for business.

Over the 2.5 days 6,200 individual delegate meetings took place, translating into 3,100 business matching appointments and more than 2,060 person-hours of targeted one-on-one business development time.  Based on the results of the extensive post-event evaluation, which was completed by over half of ABM 2012 delegates, 98.09% of respondents made new contacts at the event. Out of those 60.51% indicated they made more than 10 new connections. 55.41% reported potential new business deals based on ABM 2012 and 21.66% anticipate the revenues derived from these new deals to exceed $ 30,000.

We are now preparing ABM 2013.

Akisqnuknik Development Corporation CEO, Lillian Rose:  "Upon accepting my employment as CEO for Akisqnuknik Development Corporation I made a committment that I would concentrate soley on the work I was hired to do, relinquishing participation in many worthwhile meetings and conferences  to concentrate on the grassroots issues in our community around economic development. We currenly manage 7 businesses on behalf of Akisqnuk First Nation and the Board of Akisqnuknik Development Corporation are extremely proud of our accomplishments to date.
Attending ABM 2012 was a sound and worthwhile endeavour, out of a possible 31 dates, I made 32.  Many of the sessions were directly related to the expansion of our businesses and also helped us envision a bigger dream for the future of our community." - Windermere, British Columbia
